2 Awards for AMBER Researchers in Research Ireland ‘Frontiers for the Future’

Two AMBER Researchers have been awarded awarded over €2.5 million combined for their projects under Research Ireland Frontiers for the Future funding.  Their projects look at innovations in advanced materials for ICT and BioEngineering.

AMBER Researcher Jonathan Coleman, Erasmus Smith’s Professor of Natural and Experimental Philosophy (1724) in the School of Physics Trinity College Dublin was awarded €1,263,415.50 for his project which looks at ‘high-performance printed devices based on 2D nanosheets via interface and junction engineering’.

AMBER Researcher David Hoey Professor in the School of Engineering, Trinity College Dublin was awarded €1,273,004 for his project which looks at ‘Mechano-Immunomodulatory Strategies for Bone Regeneration’

Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless TD announced €23.6 million to support 23 research projects focused on tackling challenges in AI, healthcare, agriculture, energy, and transport.

The Research Ireland Frontiers for the Future Programme funds high-risk, high-reward research programmes and innovative, collaborative research with the potential to deliver economic and societal impact.
