The Materials for Energy theme leverages our research expertise in nanomaterials, macromolecular chemistry, catalysis and theoretical modelling to develop materials for energy harvesting, delivery and management. These are enabling technologies of the next generation batteries, supercapacitors and thermal management solutions of critical importance not only for ICT applications from mobile phones to data centres but also in the area of electric vehicles and energy storage solutions for the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid.
AMBER has a strong emphasis on collaboration. Central to AMBER’s research remit are collaborative projects performed with industry partners, and working with academic, industry and wider stakeholder on international and national research programmes.Get in touch
