AMBER Researchers featured on Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers 2025

12 November 2025

Congratulations to AMBER Researchers, Professor Jonathan Coleman, and Professor Valeria Nicolosi both of Trinity College Dublin, who feature on the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers List 2025 which identifies researchers who have demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields. They join 27 researchers from Irish universities and research institutions have made it onto this year’s Highly Cited Researchers list.

This is the 12th year running for Professor Colman to be featured as a ‘Highly Cited Researcher in the field of Materials Science’ in addition to ‘Highly Cited Researcher in the field of Chemistry – 2018’

Professor Nicolosi is featured for the 7th year running as ‘Highly Cited Researcher in the field of Materials Science’ 2023 -2025 and ‘Highly Cited Researcher in the field of Cross-Field’ 2019 – 2022. Prof. Nicolosi said: “It’s a great honour to receive this very prestigious recognition for the seventh year in a row. This achievement is truly a reflection of the hard and wonderful work of my research group — past and present — and it is with them that I share this recognition. Their dedication, creativity, and excellence continue to inspire me every day. I also want to acknowledge the many outstanding collaborators I’ve had the privilege to work with over the years.”

According to Clarivate: Of the world’s population of scientists and social scientists, Highly Cited Researchers are 1 in 1,000 Highly Cited Researchers demonstrate significant and broad influence in their field(s) of research. Each researcher selected has authored multiple Highly Cited Papers which rank in the top 1% by citations for their field(s) and publication year in the Web of Science Core Collection over the past eleven years. However, citation activity is not the sole selection indicator. This list, based on citation data, is then refined using other quantitative metrics, as well as qualitative analysis and expert judgment.
