Dr. Colm Faulkner is a Project Officer at AMBER. Prior to AMBER, Colm held teaching and research roles in the University of Bath, National University of Ireland Galway, the CNRS and Imperial College London. At AMBER he contributes to the projects and operations team to deliver reporting, research program co-ordination, and funding support on exchequer research grant applications. Colm has supported the career development and progression of many AMBER alumni and trainees via funding support on the SFI Industry Fellowship funding instrument.
He is available for collaboration/research and industry enquiries related to the DAFM funded NXTGENWOOD research program, aiming to develop value added applications of Irish wood.
He has a PhD from Durham University in sustainable nanomaterials, and a BSc from Queen’s University Belfast.
AMBER has a strong emphasis on collaboration. Central to AMBER’s research remit are collaborative projects performed with industry partners, and working with academic, industry and wider stakeholder on international and national research programmes.
