Dr Bruce Murphy is Deputy Director of the Trinity Centre for Biomedical Engineering and a lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Biomedical Engineering.
His research is focused on understanding clinical problems and the associated clinical needs. His research projects are focused on developing solutions for large un-met clinical needs. This has led to a number of spin-outs from his lab: Selio Medical, OneProjects, CroíValve, and Proverum Medical.
Through AMBER he collaborates with medical device companies in the development or testing phase of a medical devices.
AMBER has a strong emphasis on collaboration. Central to AMBER’s research remit are collaborative projects performed with industry partners, and working with academic, industry and wider stakeholder on international and national research programmes.
