This past Science Week AMBER did an externally facing window display at the Naughton Institute, home to AMBER & CRANN in Trinity College Dublin.
It was a celebration of a selection of Irish Scientists & their achievements, including:
Graphene discovered 20 years ago is a material 200 times more resistant than steel and five times lighter than aluminum. It has applications in the energy, construction, health, and electronics sectors. Here in AMBER & CRANN it has seen contributions from contemporary Scientists Prof John J. Boland Prof Jonathan Coleman, Prof Yurii K. Gun’Ko & Prof Valeria Nicolosi, who have contributed to the the journey to reach graphene’s true potential , through Liquid phase exfoliation & Scalable production of graphene nanoflakes.
Via the disciplines of physics, chemistry, anatomy, botany, geology, surgery, engineering and computer science Ireland has made, and continues to make many contributions to the benefit of people and planet via science.
