AMBER attended the Skerries Bee Festival at the end of June at Skerries Mills! The AMBER Centre team spent the weekend engaging with the public, sharing their expertise. From looking at insects, flowers and plants under microscopes and inspecting SEM images of a bee to testing steady hands with our “buzz” game and much more, there was something for everyone!
Thank you to Máire Jones, Charlie Heasman & the organising committee for inviting us & to Kerry Thompson & Microscopy Society of Ireland for supporting our microscopy & materials science outreach. To our incredible education and public engagement team Munirah Ghariani, Caroline O’Sullivan, Aisling Hussey, Megha C Kachappilly, Matthew Mosse, Natalia Garcia Domenach and Mairéad Holden for their hard work this weekend.
AMBER has a strong emphasis on collaboration. Central to AMBER’s research remit are collaborative projects performed with industry partners, and working with academic, industry and wider stakeholder on international and national research programmes.
