POLINA Unprecedented photolithographic structuring of novel light-sensitive poly(amino acid) materials – a paradigm shift in delivering biocompatible devices

POLINA is an European Union’s Horizon EIC-Pathfinder Open project that will combine a novel, light-sensitive amino acid materials platform with established and emerging photolithographic techniques to offer an industry-ready solution and contribute to the growing biomedical market. POLINA will bring concrete benefits to science, technology, society, the environment, and the economy, offering Europe`s medical industries an edge to deliver biocompatible, multifunctional implantable devices and research and development tools.

This project is an EIC Pathfinder coordinated by Andreas Heise & Sally Ann Cryan. It began on 1st January 2024 with a budget of €2,882,322.
