Margaret Brennan Fournet Assistant Professor

Dr Brennan Fournet is the Materials Research Institute’s Assistant Director at TUS and leads the Polymer Sustainability Initiative. She leads a cross-sectorial team, prioritizing the development, and fast-tracking, of sustainable technology solutions, which preserve natural resources and serve to positively shape our future. She is the coordinator of an EU-China flagship Horizon 2020 project entitled “Bio Innovation of a Circular Economy for Plastic”, the leader of a Disruptive Technology Innovation Fund project “PerPETual” on the permanent recycling of PET food packaging and a lead participant in the Interreg funded CURcumin sustainable plastic COLours (Curcol).

Dr Brennan Fournet received a Ph.D. from the School of Physics Trinity College Dublin in 2002 and following national and international academic and industry positions joined Athlone Institute of Technology in December 2017.

Dr Brennan Fournet collaborate on numberous EU funded projects at the intersection of environmental research, climate science, pollution control, material science, microbiology and extractive technologies, fostering a trans-disciplinary network academic and wider stakeholders.
