Applications are invited for the following positions:
- Postdoctoral Fellowship/ Research Scientist - Development of a Novel Biomaterial for Peripheral Nerve Regeneration
The Tissue Engineering Research Group at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland currently has a research position available in the area of tissue engineering, in particular the development and characterisation of biomaterials for peripheral nerve regeneration. The researcher will work closely with other members of a multidisciplinary project team including principal investigators, postdoctoral researchers, postgraduate students and clinicians. The position will be closely associated with the Advanced Materials and BioEngineering Research (AMBER) Centre.
Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in biomaterials/ bioengineering or related disciplines ideally with specific experience in scaffolds for tissue engineering, natural polymers, hydrogels and cell culture techniques. Additional experience in drug delivery and in vivo models would be considered beneficial.

- Project Management Role
The successful candidate will work in AMBER’s Project Office, which has responsibility for the management of the Institute’s research programmes and specific responsibility for programmes involving industry. S/he will have responsibility for the delivery of allocated funded research programmes. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the management of academic / industry interactions and familiarity with the reporting required for research programmes funded through SFI and EI.
